Hi all

I went back to work on Monday and so far, so good. LOL

I have been lucky that the head teacher of our school has been so supportive. He came to the classroom where I work on Monday and asked how I was getting on. I told him that I wouldn't be able to climb on chairs anymore, to do the board displays so he's buying me a little set of steps. He said that if there was anything I needed (apart from a pay rise) I should go and see him.

How fab is that.!!! Lol

I went to the hospital today for the two weekly blood test and will find out if the sulfasalazine is agreeing with me. I have to carry on with the steroids until the medication 'kicks in' and then they will wean me off them.

I feel full of energy and I know it won't last but I'm enjoying it while it does. Hey ho!!!!

Happy thoughts!!!

Take care
Chris

Good news Chris- sounds so like me- I'm a teacher too and my head has also been very supportive in making any practical / physical adjustments I need. He lets me have a break pm if I have a parents' evening (his suggestion) and if I start getting fatigued he will get a lesson or two covered.I don't want to sound as if I'm telling you what to do but little things like that are worth asking for! I'm not very good at pacing myself and often pay for it afterwards. When I was first diagnosed and worried about my A level classes he got a very good teacher in for a few weeks to help out. It makes such a difference to have the support.
I'm on sulfasaazine too and once it kicked in, it made such a difference. I hope it's the same for you.

Thanks all of you. Sometimes we only have negative things to say but I thought I'd tell you my positives. All the other staff have been equally supportive so I guess I'm a lucky person to work there.

I'll try not to overdo it, although, when you're feeling ok, you feel like you can run a marathon. lol Now, that would be overdoing it!!

Thanks for the good wishes.

Take care all
Chris
